Er wird aus der Ajuga Turkestanica Pflanze gewonnen und erh\u00e4lt hierdurch seinen Namen. Die Pflanze ist im \u00e4u\u00dfersten Osten Europas sowie in ehemalig sowjetischen Regionen wie Kasachstan beheimatet. Ein wesentlicher Grund, weshalb die westliche Medizin erst sehr sp\u00e4t die Pflanze erforscht und wissenschaftlich mehr \u00fcber\u00a0Turkesteron\u00a0erfahren hat.<br \/><br \/>Nicht in jeder Ajuga-Pflanze kommt der Wirkstoff vor, der ihr zur Abwehr von Ungeziefer dient. Chemisch z\u00e4hlt\u00a0Turkesteron\u00a0zu den sogenannten Ecdysteroide, es handelt sich also um eine Art von Steroid. Gerne wird\u00a0Turkesteron\u00a0landl\u00e4ufig auch als das &#8220;Testosteron der Pflanzen&#8221; bezeichnet.<br \/><br \/>Alleine wegen dieser Begriffe schrecken viele Fitnesssportler vor einer Einnahme von <a href=\"\/supplements\/\">Supplementen<\/a> mit diesem Wirkstoff zur\u00fcck. Es wird angenommen, dass die Einnahme dieses besonderen Steroids als Doping angesehen wird.
